Get Outside At These Danbury Parks

Spring is here and there’s no better way to enjoy the season than with a bike ride, a dog walk or just a relaxing walk through some scenic greenery. Here in Danbury, we have lots of natural beauty despite being in such a fun city.

If you’re ready to check out some local parks near your Bozzuto apartment, then you certainly don’t have to venture too far – get those sneakers out and check these parks out with the dog, the kids or your significant other!

Tarrywile Park & Mansion, located at 70 Southern Blvd, Danbury, is a 23-room Victorian-era mansion on grounds that feature gardens, trails, ponds and picnic areas which attracts large numbers of local visitors throughout the year.

Tarrywile Park on the grounds is a 722-acre passive recreation park, which is owned and partially funded by the City of Danbury and overseen by the Tarrywile Park Authority Board. The TPA’s mission is to provide a sustained balance of passive recreation, environmental education and historic preservation.

Bear Mountain Reservation, located at 17 Bear Mountain Rd, Danbury, is a 140-acre green space with dog-friendly hiking trails, wooded areas and access to Candlewood Lake. If you’re a solo hiker or have kids, this is a safe “getaway-from-it-all” place. It’s easy to get to, well maintained, and the hiking is very straightforward with pleasant surroundings.

Bear Mountain has an outlook, a ranger cottage and parking area. Come explore a hiking trail at this beautiful destination! It was set aside and dedicated by the Mayor of Danbury for people of all ages to enjoy.
