The weather is rapidly cooling down, which means it’s time for winter sports, and local skating enthusiasts know that Danbury Ice Arena is one of the area’s most popular indoor ice rinks. Danbury Ice Arena specializes in teaching and instruction, so if your child (or you!) wants to learn how to skate, improve your ice hockey skills, or practice the graceful, flowing movements associated with figure skating, this is the place to do it.
You can choose simply to take classes for enjoyment, or you can enroll in classes as a stepping stone to one of the Arena’s competitive programs. Looking for something a bit more laid back? Try coming out for one of the Arena’s public open-skate sessions, which are scheduled for at least two hours every day of the week. On Friday nights there’s usually even a DJ playing music that turns the skating session into a dance party. Check the website for a current calendar.
